It’s important to keep your dog entertained while you work at home. Dogs can get bored easily and will start barking or chewing on things if they are not properly stimulated. If you’re looking for some ways to keep your dog happy, look no further! We compiled a list of tips for keeping your pup entertained when you’re working from home:
Give them toys.
While you’re working , leave your dog’s favorite toys in the other room.
Let them come to you.
If they bark or whine when you’re working, let them sit next to you while they are being calm and quiet. Give them a treat after 15 minutes of good behavior.

When leaving an item with their scent on it (like a shirt or a pillow), they’ll be happy to have this item around.
Give them some cuddles.
While you’re working, give your dog frequent breaks so that they can come and sit next to you or play with another toy for 15 minutes at a time before returning back to their own space.
When giving these short breaks, be sure to give them lots of praise and let them know that they are doing a good job!
Take some photos.
If you have an iPhone or any other type of camera, take pictures throughout the day so your pet can see what their human is up to when they’re not around. Your dog will love seeing new pictures on your phone or computer.
Get some exercise before work.
Your dog will be more energized and ready to play if you take them for a long walk, run errands around your neighborhood with them, or go on a hike together in the morning before going into the office. Alternatively, let them run around outside with a GPS dog fence like this one. This is also great for giving both of you time away from staring at a screen all day long.

Give them a treat when they’re good.
If your dog is patient and well-behaved while you’re trying to work, give them a quick belly rub or some chicken/pork/beef flavored treats as a reward for being so patient!
Engage in play.
Use this time as an opportunity for interactive playtime with your pup. You can play fetch, tug-of-war, or hide and seek. Not only will this help to tire your dog out throughout the day so that they don’t get restless when you’re trying to work , it will also be an opportunity for bonding!
